TESTIMONIALS

“Our 4th grader has struggled with reading since first grade. She consistently scored low, but never low enough to qualify for school-based support. Over time, this took a toll on her confidence, and she began to feel defeated and avoid reading altogether.

Enter Katelynn at Magnolia Learning, and honestly, it changed everything.

From the very beginning, Katelynn met our daughter with warmth, patience, and genuine belief in her abilities. Over just eight weeks, we watched not only her reading skills improve, but her confidence blossom. For the first time, reading didn’t feel scary or discouraging, it felt possible.

After our initial sessions ended, our daughter didn’t want to stop. She wanted to keep going, which in itself speaks volumes. We signed up for more sessions, and the results were incredible. Her grades rose from Ds to As, but even more importantly, she began choosing to read on her own. Seeing her pick up a book willingly, and with pride, was something we had only hoped for before.

Magnolia Learning and Katelynn gave our daughter so much more than academic growth. She gained confidence, test-taking strategies, and the ability to advocate for herself in the classroom. She now believes in herself, and that belief has carried into every part of her learning.

We are beyond grateful for the care, expertise, and heart that Magnolia Learning, and especially Katelynn, poured into our child. Watching her grow into a confident, capable reader has been one of the most meaningful experiences for our family, and we cannot recommend them highly enough.”

“10/10 still isn’t saying enough. Mrs. Deal is AMAZING! We are a hybrid homeschool family and one of my sons was struggling with reading. We found Mrs. Deal in Nov of 2024 and worked with her twice a week for a year. She took my son from a kindergarten reading level to a 5th grade reading level (he’s in 3rd grade) in that time! We did virtual tutoring once a week and in person once a week. Mrs. Deal was able to identify my sons learning gaps through her assessments. She set realistic goals for him, and he excelled with her process and structure. She’s the most organized person I know! Always professional and communicating where my son was at and what they were working on.

Do not hesitate to work with Mrs. Deal. She has a heart of gold and is extremely gifted in coming alongside students in reading. I cannot say enough good things!”

“I cannot recommend Mrs. Deal enough! My kindergartener starting out could not consistently recognize his letters or the sounds they made and various other bench marks. By the end of our 16 sessions he could sound out and spell some words. He looked forward to going every Thursday and really enjoyed it. The growth that I seen in him was so impressive! We look forward to seeing Mrs. Deal again soon!”

“We can’t say enough good things about Ms. Deal at Magnolia Learning! She built a warm, encouraging environment that transformed reading from a struggle into something Morgan feels proud and confident about. Morgan looked forward to every session and made incredible progress during her time with Ms. Deal.”

“Our son struggled at the beginning of third grade with reading comprehension, rushing through his work and not really understanding test questions. That started to bleed over into other study areas and he ended the first nine weeks with a very low C. He started working with Mrs. Katelynn and she was able to assess his areas of strength but also where he needed a little more help. She helped him develop skills like chunking paragraphs and how to go back into the text to look for the answers. She collaborated with his teachers and reading specialist at school to ensure everyone was on the same page and helping him read to the best of his abilities. He ended the third nine weeks with a mid B, bringing his grade up by 14 points. He learned so many great skills from Mrs. Katelynn and thoroughly enjoyed his time with her! We highly recommend Mrs. Katelynn and Magnolia Learning to help students who need that extra support!”

“Cannot sing Mrs. Katelynn’s praises enough!! She not only taught my son to read (he struggled greatly with it) but she boosted his confidence and along the way found a new love for reading. Our family is forever thankful for her and as a homeschool mom it’s a blessing to have her as a resource!”

“My homeschooled 2nd grader was having trouble with reading and nothing we did at home was clicking. Mrs. Deal has been working with him for about 4 months now and we have seen HUGE improvements not only in his reading when doing schoolwork, but in his desire to actually try to read when it is not required. As a homeschool family, this was the perfect choice for us! Highly recommend!”

“All 3 of my children have had the privilege of being Ms. Deal’s students! The compassion she showed each of them really made them feel so special. As parents, we appreciated her professionalism, her thorough communication on their progress, and the peace of mind that came from knowing they were in her care. A few years ago we were able to identify that my middle child is dyslexic. The year he spent with Ms. Deal was so beneficial for him and his confidence grew immensely!! Cannot recommend her enough!”

“Ms. Deal is an exceptional teacher who goes way over and above expectations as a teacher. She taught my daughter in 3rd grade. She was below level in reading and with the help of Ms. Deal and her expertise she worked with my daughter to help her advance. She also rallied with the principal and Special Education department to get her the extra help she needed to succeed. Ms. Deal will always be remembered as her favorite teacher in Elementary school!”
